2026 SMSL League Champion Criteria & Playoffs

SMSL Spring-Summer Season will again have League Champions across all age flights.

Age Flights with Two or More Brackets (Playoff Flights) will use a qualified playoff format:

Important Information for All Playoff Teams

All regular season games must be completed on or before June 25. All Final Four games
will be scheduled on Saturday, June 27 (up to two per games) at a single SMSL complex.
Qualified teams are required to participate and will be provided a portal with a small
fee to cover referees and field costs.
Due to weather and other circumstances, SMSL cannot guarantee the event will be
postponed as this schedule supports the 4 th of July holiday and MYSA State Tournament
participation.

SingleBracket Age Flights

Champions will be determined solely by league standings.

All games and makeup games must be completed by July 2.
If teams play an uneven number of games, SMSL will determine the champion based on
all results played.
This schedule supports teams participating in the MYSA State Tournament in July.

How Champions Are Determined

Playoff Flights – Final Four Format

The following age flights have two or more brackets and will compete in a Final Four playoff on
Saturday, June 27. Two Brackets format has the top two teams qualify with crisscross semis
(1v2 and 2v1). Three Brackets format has the top teams qualify as well as the best 2 nd place
teams based on points percentage.

Special Note: A quarterfinal will be played on Thursday, June 23, with the winner
advancing to the Final Four.
